I'm watching Olympique Marseille v PSG; OM managed by none other than Marcello Bielsa.
The commentators have outlined the OM team formation as a suicide squad; 3 defenders,3 in midfield, then one in the hole, then 3 forwards. Apparently they don't bother to defend, they expect to outscore the other team. Ibra and Cavani playing for PSG.
Hmmmmm; will be interested to see how this pans out, given the chat about Bielsa.

PSG almost scored twice more after going 3-2 up.
Somehow can't see Sullivan going for this bloke,who would probably upset as many players as he gets on his wavelength.

Was reading that the basis of his plan was having 1 more defender than the other team has forwards and lots of energy and high tempo.
At Atletico Bilbao he tended to play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.
They were superb that season when they decimated Man U home and away but in the way of Spanish teams they were picked dry of his key players Javi Martinez & Llorente.

Who would accept that as a WHU game every time? Would we get enough points to keep everyone happy?
How would w fit today's squad into Bielsa's lineups? Do we play three CBs, or one + Cresswell and Jenkinson, and then a holding player followed by 3 plus 3? Or something else?
I saw tons of open space at the OM end.

Really enjoyable game that. OM looked open at the back although the likes Pastore & Ibra aren't too shabby.
Huge work ethic from the OM players a trademark of Bielsa. Mendy looked a good outlet down the left and Payet is a rolls Royce player he glides. Verrati very good for PSG.
Would love Bielsa here but think bigger fish will be after him.

Would have some of that. Ineffective wide play has driven me mad for the last four years. You rarely see Wengers sides stick it in the mixer !

Also a lot of work to do to stand still at Marseille if Gignac and others leave as expected in the Summer.
